A compilation of environmental laws is a long fell need in Sri Lanka where the Lawson Environmental Protection are scattered in a wide range of different legislations and judicial decisions. This compilation of the laws on public nuisance does bridge a significant gap in the environmental related legal material in Sri Lanka and strengthens the fight for the preservation of nature and all its constituents. The compilation will not only be a guide to the legal practitioners seeking to defend the environment but will also be an invaluable resource to the researchers academic students and general public at large. The effort of the Center for environmental law and policy of university of Colombo in compiling the legislative enactment pertaining to public nuisance with all the relevant case laws including the ones that one would hardly be able to find is an extremely praiseworthy and a notable contribution to the collective effort of the present generation in Sri Lanka to preserve mother earth for our children and grandchildren.
